Madame Reineck’s 2nd grade class put on a special performance for their families… with a little audience participation at the end!
Originating in PE — and connected to their IB unit on changes (Changes can be observed and measured) — the performance included scarf dancing, circus elements, as well as two Bollywood dances as part of a workshop with the French government: Danse ta classe, ton école, ta ville). Students were able to watch recordings of practice so they could see their movements and come up with changes to surprise the audience.
With an affinity for Bollywood and experience with the circus when she lived in France, Madame Reineck was thrilled to share her experiences to inspire creativity and collaboration in this student-led production. This was also one of the first (of many) opportunities we had to welcome families back on campus, which was (and is) a special joy to see!
