FAIS asks that every family commit to 20 hours of service each year. Because we are unable to welcome families on campus this fall, in addition to any hours volunteered for FAIS, any hours volunteered within your community (outside organizations) may count towards this requirement.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Given our remote learning environment, the following are the volunteer opportunities within each class that will require volunteers.  Please look out for an email from your room parent to sign up for any of these volunteer roles!

  • Class Documentarian - Review teacher and parent photos/videos throughout the year and upload to FAIS Google drive for inclusion in the school yearbook.

  • Class Activity Coordinator for Fall & Spring Virtual Gathering - Plans virtual activity for fall and spring as a way to build community among the classroom.

  • Class Speaker(s) - Are you willing to talk to student(s) about what you do professionally/what your expertise is? Sign up to be on a resource list for teachers!

  • Class Logistic Volunteers - Throughout the year, there may be volunteers needed to distribute materials to classmates. Sign up to be on a contact list for this!

Do you have experience with Adobe Suite and interest in supporting the Development Office in the design and production of a printed piece? Please email Shawna Foster, Director of Development at

We are looking to coordinate community drives that are easy for FAIS families to participate in throughout the fall. Volunteers would help manage the relationship and communication with the community organization and Director of Development, and help to coordinate day-of logistics. Our hope is to host one drive each month.

Contact Shawna Foster, Director of Development, at if interested.
