Support, guide, and problem solve with a small group of 8th grade design students throughout the researching, planning, and creation process of the 17th annual Gilkey Carnival.

As an adult mentor for a group of three or four 8th grade design students, your main goal is helping them with time management, task accountability, and making sure their designs are realistic. You will work closely with their design teacher, Beth Clifton. This role includes being in the classroom starting January 29 for nine Wednesday afternoons from 1:30-3:30 and availability on the event day, March 13.

Contact Beth Clifton,

Do you have a student athlete and a camera? You can earn volunteer hours simply by taking photos while you watch your student's games. Photos are used for sports pages in the Gilkey yearbook as well as other FAIS publications. Contact Gilkey's yearbook coordinator Lauren Sinclair at to learn what quality, file type/size, and upload processes you need to use.

Some companies (like Nike and Intel) offer a donation to the School for each hour volunteered by one of their employees. Check with your company to see if this applies to you and how to submit your hours!
