      Students will work on writing, producing, practicing, recording, and editing their own 30-minute podcast. All episodes will be available and uploaded to a secure site by the end of the week, so that parents to see what they've accomplished. Younger students will have the option of working on group or class podcasts, and will have different objectives to meet during the week.

      All FAIS families and prospective FAIS families are invited to this informational meeting regarding the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme for our preschool through 8th grade students. Join us to find out more about the PYP and MYP at FAIS, including history; philosophy; how the mission, standards, and practices are articulated into action; and how FAIS teachers use inquiry to promote student thinking and engagement.

    • SatMar11 Eco Action Forest Party 8:30 AM to 10:30 AMFAIS Garden Area

      At FAIS, we are fortunate to have immediate access to a 4.5-acre forest with a nature trail and three outdoor classroom spaces. Your family can help support educational connections with native plants and animals and environmental stewardship through ongoing habitat restoration, trail maintenance, and outdoor classroom clean-up. During 2016-17 there will be over 20 opportunities to contribute! A nature restoration community event is scheduled every 2nd Saturday and one weekday per month throughout the year. A nature space tour is offered the 30 minutes before each Saturday event.

      Partnering with Washed Ashore, a national organization that creates art that teaches environmental conservation and sustainability, students will use their creativity to make art from garbage, and learn more about the effects of littering on our environment. No programming will be offered for drop in kids.
