Family Enrichment Series Appearance by Howard Hiton February 8, 7:00 p.m.
Ever wonder how to encourage your child to be competitive but also cooperative? On Wednesday, February 8 (at 7 p.m. in the Commons), licensed professional counselor Howard Hiton will be visiting the FAIS campus to talk about competition: understanding and maintaining the healthy aspect of competition as well as understanding and preventing the harmful side. Hiton will have suggestions of how to nurture developmentally appropriate learning experiences through competition, whether winning or losing, and how to encourage intrinsic motivation in our children, as opposed to incentivizing them with awards, trophies, and treats. Join us, and feel free to bring friends from outside the FAIS community.
