Une Ville au Moyen-Age
Posted 04/05/2016 03:21PM

David Billeaud's 4th grade class created a 3-D town of the Middle Ages during their unit on how culture, values and beliefs are transmitted through art. (L'homme témoigne de sa culture, de ses valeurs et de ses croyances à travers l'art.)

The 8 by 4 feet long city, named Auvelle, is currently housed in the FAIS Library. It is very impressive, complete with a river (La Sennelle), bridges, and shops with signs.

It also includes a donjon and two churches, in Romanesque and Gothic architectural style.

Read more about Auvelle and the students' creative process in the La Gazette article, "Building a Medieval Village."
