Each spring FAIS hosts its largest fundraising event of the year, the Gala, a festive occasion at an off-campus venue for the entire school community. The Gala is a parent-led program that thrives because of the support of everyone in the School: parents donate items for sale, solicit businesses, contribute to classroom theme baskets, assist teachers and students with class projects, advertise in the catalog, invite their friends to the event, and bid at the Gala. As with the Annual Fund, proceeds from the Gala are directed to the General Operating Budget. The Gala also features a Special Appeal, which is a paddle raise opportunity that funds a specifically designated project each year. Over the past several years, the Special Appeal has funded the following projects:
