ACE Week: Theater of Performing Arts
Posted September 28, 2012
This fall's ACE Week will focus on the performing arts, and will offer a number of exciting workshops.
Director, editor and cinematographer Paul Searle will come to the FAIS Campus on Wednesday to film the groups' short plays/skits, and also to help with editing. On Friday, the videos will be aired. It will be a great time of food, drink, and everyone getting to see the different performances the other groups have prepared. It will be our very own premier in a way! If you’re interested in seeing some examples of Paul’s work check out his website.
Also, we’ll be hosting a workshop from the Oregon Ballet Theater. Here is what Kasandra Gruener, Director of Education and Outreach, has to say about what we’ll be in store for during the week.
“The teacher will augment straight ballet work with dance elements that will give your students more to play with as they create their plays. We consider this workshop a dance opportunity: to get to know their body as articulate movers and to learn about dance as a presentational, physical, performance art… thus supporting the 'play-making' that your students are involved in.”
More information will be forthcoming as the week approaches. Don’t forget that EARLY BIRD pricing ends on October 3rd! Email Ryan with any questions.
