FAIS Alumni Perform Molière

Mme Cansse's high school french class presented a French play by Molière on Thursday, May 31. The play was held in the FAIS Rose Préau Commons, and attended by the students of the Gilkey French track, as well as some of the School's other teachers. The 13 students in the class were composed of a mixture of freshmen, sophomores, and seniors.

Dressed in authentic costumes of the era, the students had a lot of fun portraying the comedic characters of Molière's "L'Avare." "L'Avare" is an upbeat comedy that follows the story of a greedy man named Harpagon, as he hides his money and tries to marry off his children in pursuit of financial gain. The play is full of quirky characters and hilarious misunderstandings, well played by the high school class.

The students involved, led by Angelique Cansse, included: Kathryn Liu (Harpagon), Jake Riswold (Cleante 1), Quentin Hahn (Cleante 2), Emily Levine (Elise), Ansen Burr (Frosine), Luciana Alonso (La Fleche 1), Samara Michaelson (La Fleche 2), Tess Michaelson (Maitre Jacques), Adelaide Knox (Valere 1), Maddy Nicoloff (Valere 2), Toni Castro (Mme Claude, Marianne), Dhabin An (Maitre Simon, Brindavoine), Kieran McTague (La Merluche). The production was a fun and educational experience for all involved!
