ADMISSIONS TESTING

Gilkey International Middle School Admission Testing Information

Students who are applying for grades 6-8 are required to take an admission test during the time of their application. We ask applicants to complete the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT). (We accept the ISEE if the SSAT is not offered where you live.)

Enclosed is information regarding the SSAT. Gilkey is part of a consortium of Portland, OR schools who accept the SSAT for admission and where the SSAT is offered.

When registering for the SSAT you must know the date you would like to take the test, the test center location, and where you would like the scores to be sent. You may take the SSAT at any location (even non-Portland locations) and have the scores directed to the school or schools to which you are applying. You must notify the admissions office at Gilkey of where and when you plan to take the test.

Listed below are the Portland, OR test dates, locations, school codes, and SSAT on-line registration links. Please note that although there are multiple test dates, to be considered for Gilkey admission you must take the test in November, December, January, or February. Please refer to www.ssat.org/oregon for more detailed information and for registration links.
