PROJET D’ECOLE
French American School Achievement Plan (FASAP) 2004-2008
The FASAP is designed to improve students’ achievement and development in our school.
The FASAP provides a comprehensive set of tools to assess and address areas of possible improvement.
The FASAP sets mid and long term goals for our school as a community of learners.
The FASAP is a project coherent with research studies on immersion education, mathematics and science, language and arts. It is also opened to effective programs implemented in other schools.
The FASAP provides a framework for a constructive dialogue within the school community focused on students’ achievement and development. Teachers and aides, administrative staff and parents work together to reach common goals.
The first year of the project will include emphasis on and adapting research about:
- Teaching oral language in an immersion school.
- Implementing more “student-centered” practices in our teaching
- Promoting problem-solving.
- Building and reinforcing a community of learners by reaching out to the Portland community at large and developing a strong sense of community within the school.
